The House

So here's the story with the house...
Vinni and I started talking about living together about 6 months into our relationship.  I was about to finish Graduate school and he was ready to buy a house instead of renting.  Moving in together seemed like the next step in our relationship.  Therefore, he started the long process of looking at houses in November and I tagged along for "support" or as Sam (realtor) would say...to give a push/shove in the right direction.  Little did we know, it was going to be a lot harder then we had imagined.  I love Vinni to death but he might be the pickiest man I know.  He works in the restoration and construction business so he knows his stuff and knows what he likes--which isn't a bad thing, it just took us longer to find the right one.  He saw about 45 houses and out of those I probably saw 15.  Out of the 45, he liked about 2, one of those was "the house".

We both walked into the house and instantly fell in love with it.  Now, not a normal person would love this house; it stinks, the kitchen and bathrooms are hideous, flooring is terrible, and not to mention it has a red brick fireplace with paneling over it...ick.  But we were looking for a house that was a ranch, had an open floorplan, a good sized kitchen, a dining area, two car garage, fenced yard for the pooch, and at least 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms.  This house was perfect!  We figured all it needs is a little makeover and some TLC.

Currently the house is under contract and set to close at the end of February! Until then we can't actually start work on the house, but here are some pictures to give you a visual of what lies ahead...

The Beginning

Hello all!

This is my first blog and blog post, so bear with me while I figure this thing out! My boyfriend, Vinni, and I have decided to start a blog to keep track of the progress of the "new" house--when I say 'new' I mean new to us--there is lots of work to be done!  Along with posting things about the house you may also see things about food (we both share a love for eating and with moving into the house we are hoping we can learn how to actually cook!) and of course, we will be posting about our everyday lives.
